Unique demands of Specialty Chemicals
Specialty materials require processing equipment that can meter, mix, & dispense with precision, consistency and reliability. Specialty materials typically offer unique challenges such as:
- Extreme viscosity differences between the ‘A' and ‘B' components
- Ratios that can range from 5 parts to 1 part (5:1) by volume
GlasCraft has developed a line of Variable Ratio (VR) equipment that addresses the two main requirements for successful application of specialty chemicals:
- Proportioning pumps that can facilitate dialing-in exact volumes of ‘A' and ‘B' materials
- Precision spray or pour guns to ensure a complete, consistent and uniform mix of the materials
Variable Ratio Platforms
GlasCraft pumps and VR platform frames can be selected to have Fixed Point or Infinitely Variable volumetric ratios. On both pump sets, GlasCraft employs unique and specifically designed control devices. This ensures:
- A consistent delivery of material
- Uniform and complete mix at the dispense gun
Simple Operation
- Infinitely adjustable volume ratio: both the ISO and Poly pumps can be manipulated to increase or decrease the amount of material being dispensed. A “screw gear” adjustment arm allows for volume adjustments in small, precise increments.
- As you adjust the volumetric ratio, you will shorten the length of stroke on one of the fluid sections. This will reduce the volume output of that material.
- Once a required volume ratio is dialed into the VR, it is a quick procedure to lock the ratio adjustment arm to prevent ratio fluctuations during equipment operation.

The Probler P2 gun
In the VR set-up, the Probler P2 dispense gun is outfitted with specialty balancing valves that allows the operator to maintain consistent and even pressures of the ‘A' and ‘B' materials as they enter the mixing chamber of the gun. This dramatically reduces the probability of lead / lag, in consistent mix, improper volumes, and poor
quality applications.
GlasCraft's VR proportioner's and the Probler P2 dispense gun achieve the highest quality results with the least amount of set-up and system monitoring.
